The ARIJ Resilience in Journalism Award

The ARIJ Resilience in Journalism Award was launched in 2024 to recognize the extraordinary resilience, courage, and determination of journalists who continue their vital work in the face of unprecedented adversity worldwide. Each year, this award honors an individual journalist, a group of journalists, or a media organization that exemplifies outstanding bravery and commitment to reporting the truth under perilous conditions.

In 2025, and for the second consecutive year, ARIJ announced that it will award the Resilience in Journalism Award this year to all journalists in Gaza for their unwavering dedication to truth-telling in the face of personal loss, displacement, and constant danger. Their resilience and commitment during this ongoing war highlight the critical role of journalists in sharing stories, even at great personal risk. The award was received by Wafa' Abdel Rahman, Founder and General Director of Filastiniyat, Ashraf Mashharawi, Palestinian Filmmaker, Raed M. Sharif, MENA Regional Director at SecDev Foundation, Basel Khalaf, Palestinian Journalist and Correspondent, and Amal Braika, Palestinian Journalist.

In 2024, the award was also given to all Palestinian journalists in Gaza.
