What are the dates for the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

The ARIJ 18th annual forum will take place December 5-7, 2025 in Jordan. It is mainly in person and will include a number of online activities. The forum, held under the theme “Rise to Challenge” serves as a dynamic space where journalists, media professionals, newsrooms’ leaders, academics, factcheckers, lawyers and independent media supporters come together to confront the current challenges they face. That is where this year’s theme originates from.

What is the program and schedule for the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

The activities start from 09:00 AM to 20:00 PM and the agenda will be available early November on the forum website. Don't forget to follow our social media platforms, which will have updates on our agenda, speakers, activities, and much more.

How do I attend the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

In person registration fees are available in the following prices

  • Early bird ticket: $190 (Ends on Thursday 31 July, 2025)
  • Regular price ticket: $250 (Ends on Sunday 30 Nov, 2025)

Is there an option for virtual participation this year?

Virtual participation is free and open to everyone, and includes access to online masterclasses that span from Sep - November 2025 and to some online sessions during the forum days, December 5 -7. You can sign up on our website to attend virtually.

Do we get Zoom links for the virtual sessions?

Yes, you will receive a link to attend the online sessions of the forum

Are there registration deadlines for the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

We encourage you to take advantage of our early bird offer by securing your ticket before 31 July 2025. Please note that the final deadline for in-person registration is [30 November 2025].

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

For a full refund, cancellations must be received by 3 November, 2025 or earlier. Cancellations between 4 - 18 November, 2025 are eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received after 19 November, 2025. All refunds are subject to transaction fees, which will be deducted from the original registration fee.

What does the in-person ticket cover for the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

Your ticket includes access to all forum sessions, as well as daily coffee breaks and lunches.
Please note that flights, accommodation and dinners are not included.

When should I arrive in Jordan for the ARIJ 18th annual forum?

The forum kicks off on early Friday, 5 December 2025. To fully participate, we suggest arriving in Jordan on Thursday, 4 December and departing on Monday 8 December, 2025.

Does ARIJ provide assistance with travel or visas?

If you are invited by ARIJ with support from our donors and partners, we will take care of your travel arrangements.
If you are self-funded or supported by your organization or another sponsor, you will receive a travel guide compiled by ARIJ in the registration confirmation email. The guide has essential information and helpful contacts to support your travel and accommodation needs — including visa and security clearance guidance for those coming from outside Jordan.

Can ARIJ assist with obtaining a security clearance?

If you hold one of the nationalities listed [here] or travel with a travel document, you are required to obtain an approved entry permit and prior security clearance to enter Jordan.

Will language translation be available?

The official languages of the forum are Arabic and English.
Live interpretation will be provided for select sessions to ensure accessibility for participants. Content of some sessions will also be translated to sign language.

Is the ARIJ 18th annual forum accessible for people with disabilities?

Yes.
With advance notice, our team can provide dedicated assistance, headphones for hearing amplification, sign language interpretation, and more. You will be asked about your accessibility needs during the registration process. Please aim to provide at least 30 days' advance notice so we can thoughtfully prepare to support you. Does ARIJ provide attendance certificates after the forum?

Attendance certificates will be issued only to participants who attend at least 80% of all forum sessions on Zoom.

Can ARIJ provide an official attendance letter?

Yes, ARIJ can issue an official attendance letter upon request. Please contact us at logistics@arij.net with your details, and we’ll be happy to assist you.

What if I become ill during the forum?

Please email us at logistics@arij.net if you become ill during the forum. For the safety of others, we ask that you stay isolated until you are no longer considered contagious.
If you need a medical consultation or urgent medical care, please reach out to the hotel reception for assistance
You are solely responsible for any increased costs associated with extending your stay in Jordan, including medical costs, additional hotel nights, and changes to your return flight.

Can I bring my baby to the forum?

ARIJ supports working parents. To maintain a focused environment for forum sessions, we do not allow babies and/or children in the sessions. Sessions may include sensitive or mature content not suitable for children. However, we do not provide childcare. Please source your own childcare, whether by bringing a travel companion or finding an option in Jordan.

Are there cash prizes?

While the awards do not include a cash prize, one journalist from each of the ten shortlisted investigations will be invited to attend the annual ARIJ Forum—an Arab and international training and networking event—subject to the availability of funding.
